In today’s episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Luísa Silva, who works at Savana in the area of Innovation, Sustainable Product Research, and, in particular, the company’s social initiatives.

Since its founding in 1988, Savana has been a benchmark in the production of children’s footwear, standing out for its commitment to sustainability and social inclusion. Over the years, the company has expanded its reach to various international markets, offering products that combine quality, comfort, and environmental responsibility.

As one of the companies partnering with the BioShoes4All project, Savana further strengthens its position at the forefront of the footwear industry. This project represents a milestone in product innovation and new footwear concepts, where the company is testing biodegradable and recyclable materials, with particular emphasis on its new brand – New.ve. This brand produces footwear entirely from sustainable materials, which not only reduce environmental impact but also promote ecological awareness across the broader community.

Furthermore, Savana’s vision goes beyond environmental sustainability, embracing social sustainability as well. Projects like “Braille & Sustainability” demonstrate the company’s continuous commitment to inclusion by creating footwear with Braille labels, enabling visually impaired individuals to autonomously identify product features. This project, which won the Metal Shoe 2023 competition, is just one example of the social initiatives the company develops annually, aiming to build a more just and inclusive society.
